Time to Gear Up for the Holidays

Hey Elders,

Happy Thanksgiving! This week's lesson will be on service (very appropriate) and here is the link:

• On Saturday morning 11/21 we will be doing a yard clean up project at the Bayba's starting at 9 am.
• Moving in the Tyler Pierce family on the day after Thanksgiving 11/27

This Week's Lesson

Hey Elders - the lesson this week will come from the JS manual #46 "The Martyrdom: The Prophet Seals His Testimony with His Blood." It's a good one and very interesting to hear about the events surrounding Joseph's death. The lesson will be taught by myself (Sam) and I would like to focus our thoughts/discussion on the Lord's hand in our lives. Have you ever felt like the Lord is not in control and how did you start feeling his guidance again?

This Month's Home Teaching Message

Hey Elders,

The Stake Presidency has chosen the month of October to focus on helping all members of the Stake to become more self-reliant. To help the Ward Priesthood Leadership in this effort, the Stake Presidency has requested that we do the following:

1. During the month of October the Ward Priesthood Leaders focus their Home Teaching message on the topic of "Self Reliance". Lesson materials to use will be a reduced version of the pamphlet entitled "Providing in the Lords Way" containing only the members responsibilities. Additionally, please reference the talk from Elder Hales entitled "Basic Principles of Welfare and Self-Reliance" and the talk entitled "A Gospel of Welfare: Faith In Action".

The links are resource material for the Melchizedek priesthood brethren to use in preparing their HTing lessons for the month of October on the subject of 'Self Reliance"...
